Our delivery policy
A delivery charge is included in the sale price unless noted otherwise when you buy. This charge covers delivery to the ground floor of any mainland UK address providing access is unrestricted, unless a geographic value applies.
Should you want delivery to anywhere other than the ground floor with unrestricted access, please contact us on 01304 219922 or send us an email on enquiries@sterlingbuild.co.uk to check whether this is possible before you place your order. Depending on the type of product ordered and the circumstances, it may be that an extra charge will be levied. We reserve the right to refuse to make a delivery if you have not told us delivery is to other than the ground floor with unrestricted access.
Please note we consider delivery access to be restricted if our drivers are faced with the following: double yellow lines; red route; narrow lanes; steep hills; low bridges; width restricted roads; not ground floor and no lift; basement via steps; small lift. Please call us to discuss delivery if you do not have unrestricted access.
Depending on stock availability, some orders may be split into more than one delivery so you are not kept waiting for those items immediately available. We ask you to allow up to 2 weeks for delivery, subject to stock availability. If we become aware of stock difficulties, which will affect delivery timescales, we will let you know.
Please let us know at the time of ordering if you would like to give any specific delivery instruction to be passed on to our delivery driver.
Please also note that the delivery address should be the one to which the credit card payment is billed. This is protection against fraud, for the benefit of the customer and Sterlingbuild Ltd Ltd. If there is a good reason for delivering to an alternative address: e.g. moving house; we may be able to deliver to your new address. You need to let your credit card company know that you are ordering goods to a different address than your billing address. In some cases our drivers may need to see some form of identification e.g. a utility bill which links you to the delivery address.
While we will use all reasonable efforts to ensure that products ordered are delivered by the date required, we cannot guarantee availability from the manufacturer or the manufacturer's delivery schedules. Any variation to web delivery date given will be advised to you by email. If we are unable to make delivery because access is not possible, we reserve the right to make a failed delivery charge. We will charge you £25 for re-delivery regardless of the total value of your order.
Inspection and return of damaged or defective Goods Policy
When your order arrives, it is very important that you inspect the goods for damage immediately and before signing the delivery note. If the goods are damaged, it is important that you refuse delivery, mark the delivery note accordingly and advise us on 01304 219922 or by email to enquiries@sterlingbuild.co.uk. A replacement will then be ordered for you. We do recommend that, for your own peace of mind, you inspect the goods on delivery. We cannot accept liability for damaged goods or errors, which would have been discoverable on inspection if you have had the product fitted, or you have had them for longer than 7 days.
You may also cancel your order and return products by giving due notice (by hand or by post to the company's address, or by email to enquiries@Sterlingbuild.co.uk) after the seventh working day where they are found to be defective or damaged and such defect or damage could not have been detected upon inspection. In this case it is important that we must be given the opportunity to rectify or replace (at our expense) any defective or damaged parts. In the case where products have been returned because they are defective or damaged, we shall meet the normal costs of returning the products.
Cancellation and Returns Policy
You may cancel your order for any reason and return products by giving due notice (by hand or by post to the company's address, or by email at enquiries@Sterlingbuild.co.ukany time within 7 working days (i.e. not including a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday.) from the day after the day on which the products were delivered. This includes products, which are found to be defective or damaged upon inspection within the same time limit (see also our Delivery Policy above).
Please note that (except in the case of defective or damaged products) any goods that have been made to your specification or personalised in some way, or installed by you or your fitter, cannot be returned.
Refund of the price: If you do cancel your order, we promise to return to you as soon as possible all sums paid to us in respect of the products returned, together with any original delivery charges (or a proportion of the delivery charges if other products originally supplied are not returned).
Costs of the return: In all cases where you decide to return goods (other than because they are defective or damaged) and have given due notice, you must pay the cost of returning them, preferably in their original packing (if at all possible) and in resalable condition, within 7 days of notifying Sterlingbuild Ltd of the cancellation. This cost is non-refundable. We can arrange to do this for you but we will pass the following charges on to you: -
1. Return carriage costs
2. Any repacking or reworking costs to bring the item up to saleable condition
3. Restocking charge not exceeding 20% of the original order if the product is returned after 7 days.
Pending return of products (for whatever reason) you are under a duty to take care of them while in your possession and to take reasonable care to see that they are not damaged in transit upon return.
Please note that nothing in this cancellation and returns policy in any way affects your statutory rights.
